Information Regarding Board Vacancies

The Board of Directors of Shabazz Academy seeks to develop a pool of candidates willing to serve on the Board to fill vacancies that occur from time to time. Parents and members of the community at large are eligible for consideration.

Shabazz Academy currently serves pupils in grades K-6. The Academy is located at 1028 West Barnes Rd at the intersection with S. Martin Luther King Blvd. Appointments to the board are made by Central Michigan University’s Board of Trustees, on recommendation of the Shabazz Academy Board. The recommended candidates will also go through an interview process with CMU’s Center for Charter Schools (the Center).

If you are interested in serving, please complete an “Application for Board Appointment.” It is available at the Academy’s office or it can be downloaded from CMU’s Center for Charter Schools web site. The URL for the Center is:
